Overview of the Position
Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the sales representative is to increase sales by converting new customers and expanding services to existing customers. Nearly 70% of the time is dedicated to selling, approximately 20% is allocated to servicing accounts and 10% is for administrative and pipeline management tasks.
- Identify prospects, qualify leads, and generate new business with healthcare providers to grow market share and achieve sales goals in the territory.
- Create sales territory business plans to consistently achieve sales quotas while adhering to company standards and policies.
- Educate providers on the unique benefits of the testing platform.
- Maintain and manage a sales pipeline with sales leadership to ensure attainment of goals.
- Maintain detailed contact data, sales call activities, and customer relationship activities.
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Sales Operations to support account management activities, such as maintaining inventory, managing specimen collectors, collecting missing information, coordinating specimen transportation, and similar service-related tasks.
- Provide market data and feedback to sales leadership on market trends and competitive intelligence.
Skills and Attributes:
- A self-starter who is focused on setting high goals and achieving them. Must have a winning mind-set. Hunter-driven attitude towards pursuing, closing, and developing new sales.
- Outstanding relationship-building skills, and strong customer service attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proactive cross-functional communicator and team player.
- Works closely with Operations and Logistics to lead the onboarding of new accounts.
- Ability to travel 100% of the time within the territory. (Depends on where you are located in CT)
Education and Experience:
- 3-5+ years medical sales, account management and field-based sales experience.
- Proven record of success meeting and exceeding territory volume growth objectives in diagnostic/pharmaceutical sales.
